When we think of digitalization, it’s often associated with remote or virtual experiences. However, the digital world can seamlessly coexist with in-person and hybrid innovations—enhancing processes by combining both dimensions.
Digitalization has enabled hundreds of processes to be carried out remotely, but it has also played a crucial role in improving the efficiency of in-person interactions.
At EVoting, numerous examples show how innovation and technology have streamlined decision-making processes without the need for them to be fully remote.
Before the outbreak of SARS-CoV-2, shareholder meetings were typically held entirely in person. When the pandemic hit, EVoting stepped up with a digital solution that allowed shareholders to meet and vote remotely—ensuring decisions could still be made in a secure and transparent way through digital tools.
By 2024, even though companies are no longer compelled to go fully remote, digitalization continues to offer significant advantages—even for 100% in-person meetings. Innovations in accreditation, real-time quorum control, and instant result counting have transformed traditional assemblies into more efficient and accessible experiences.
For instance, in September 2024, Banco Bolivariano of Ecuador held its Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting entirely in person using EVoting’s services—no remote participants were connected. A similar scenario occurred in Chile with Club Deportivo Manquehue, which, according to its bylaws, must conduct its General Members’ Meeting in person, and in 2024, it did so with EVoting’s technology.
A standout hybrid example is the National Council of the Chilean Chamber of Construction. There, members physically present at the chamber’s headquarters were able to accredit and vote using EVoting’s platform, while others who couldn’t attend could still vote remotely via a mobile device from anywhere in the world.
There are also cases of fully in-person, fully digitalized processes, such as the CAPEL Cooperative Assembly, where around 300 members vote electronically on-site. EVoting developed a customized solution for CAPEL, allowing members to approach an electronic ballot box and vote quickly and securely using their credentials—regardless of age or technological familiarity.
Digitalization hasn’t just revolutionized remote participation—it has also enhanced in-person and hybrid formats, making them more dynamic, efficient, and transparent. At EVoting, the integration of technological innovation with physical presence has proven to be a powerful formula for faster, more inclusive, and secure decision-making, tailored to the unique needs of each context.
