“EVOTING PAYS ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL”

In 2024, Costa Rican cooperative Coopebanpo digitalized its Extraordinary Assembly with EVoting's services. Their Head of Technology, Luis Carlos Araya, shared his positive experience with the company and highlighted the value of digital transformation in cooperative governance.

Why did you choose EVoting for your assembly?

Primarily for these reasons:

First, our members are spread across the entire country, and hosting a virtual assembly eliminates the need to bring everyone to the metropolitan area.

Second, virtual assemblies encourage greater participation. Since members don’t have to travel, it’s much easier for them to attend, which helps us ensure quorum.

How was your experience working with EVoting?

We’ve now worked with EVoting on two virtual assemblies, and both times the experience has been excellent. They’re a highly professional team, and our expectations were more than met in both events.

What stood out most about the service?

The support and attention to detail.

Before each assembly, EVoting collaborated with us to carefully plan everything—from presentations and moderators to logistics. They were very flexible, holding as many prep sessions as needed to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Another aspect I really value is the open trial sessions they offer to members beforehand. These allow participants to explore the system and get familiar with it in advance.

Also worth highlighting is the call center support. EVoting sets up a dedicated help line to assist members during the assembly, providing real-time technical support.

In short, they take great care with every detail and are deeply committed to making sure things go exactly as planned.

What are the advantages of going digital over traditional methods?

Digital assemblies offer major benefits in cost reduction and efficiency.

Organizing a physical event meant booking hotels, arranging catering, managing logistics—all of which are no longer necessary. Now, everything is handled virtually, saving both time and money.

Also, during the event itself, the use of time is far more efficient—the structure of virtual assemblies naturally encourages discipline in speaking time and participation.

Above all, the cost savings are the most significant.

Would you recommend digitalizing assemblies to other organizations?

Absolutely—without hesitation. As we say here in Costa Rica, “a ojos ciegos” (with eyes closed).

Having conducted two digital assemblies, we can confidently say this is a reliable, streamlined, and cost-effective process—especially for cooperatives, which are required to hold assemblies regularly.

Going digital has made these events faster, simpler, and far more economical.
